The mission of the Office of Space Planning and Analysis is to plan, allocate and manage the University’s space in a manner that optimizes its use and advances the mission and strategic priorities of the campus.

Space planning is the process of defining functional use requirements and designing a spatial solution to meet those needs. Space planning occurs at the Capital Planning level in the design of new buildings and at the Minor Capital Project level in the form of small renovation projects. There are dollar thresholds that distinguish a project as either a Major Capital or a Minor Capital project.
